Chiropractic Care

Back or neck pain can affect much more than the sore area. It may make working, sleeping, exercising or simply getting through your usual day more difficult.

At Eastgate Chiropractic, Dr Simon Parker (Chiropractor) takes the time to understand what you’re experiencing and how it’s affecting your life. With more than 30 years in practice, his approach is thorough, practical and tailored to the individual.

What Does Chiropractic Care Involve?

Chiropractic care focuses on the musculoskeletal system, including the joints, muscles and other soft tissues involved in movement.

Your care starts with a conversation and examination rather than an assumption about what you need. Depending on your findings, Dr Parker may use chiropractic adjustments alongside soft tissue techniques, trigger point therapy, a Thumper massage device, dry needling, exercise and posture advice.

Soft tissue work is commonly incorporated into appointments rather than focusing on adjustments alone. The aim is to address relevant joint and muscle findings while helping you understand practical things you can do outside the practice.

Chiropractic Techniques We Use

Diversified is the technique our chiropractor uses most frequently. This hands-on approach involves applying a controlled movement to specific joints of the spine.

Other techniques may be selected depending on your age, preferences and clinical needs, including:

  • Trigger point therapy
  • Gonstead technique
  • Activator®
  • Drop-piece adjustments
  • Dry needling and other soft tissue techniques

What Does Our Chiropractor Commonly See?

People visit us with a variety of musculoskeletal concerns. These may include neck pain, headaches, lower back pain, hip or leg pain, and discomfort through the mid-back or chest area.

No two patients are treated as though they’re the same. Dr Parker considers your health history, symptoms, examination findings and day-to-day activities before discussing what may be appropriate for you.

Chiropractic Care That Includes You

We believe care works best as a partnership. Along with what happens during your appointment, our chiropractor may discuss exercises, posture or lifestyle changes relevant to your circumstances.

You’ll have time to ask questions, understand your options and be involved in decisions about your care.
